PTE Academic or PTE Core — which one are you taking?

They are not the same test, and preparing for the wrong one is an expensive mistake. The scoring is identical; the tasks are not.

The item-type differences that actually catch people out

This is the part most preparation material gets wrong, so we will be specific:

PTE Core has no Summarize Group Discussion. We teach it only on the Academic path, because putting it on the Core path would be teaching a task that will never appear.
Respond to a Situation is Core-only. It is taught on the Core path and deliberately absent from the Academic one.
Everything else in the course serves both modules, so you are not paying for content you cannot use.

One real sitting costs several packages

We will not quote you a peso figure for the real PTE fee: test centres reprice, and a stale number on a sales page is worse than no number. What we can say is relative, and it is calculated from the conservative low end of published Philippine test-centre pricing.

What is the difference between PTE Academic and PTE Core?

Same computer-based test and the same 10 to 90 scoring, different tasks. Academic uses academic content and integrated tasks; Core replaces those with everyday workplace tasks and is built for Canadian immigration, where it is IRCC-approved and converts to CLB levels. Concretely: Core has no Summarize Group Discussion, and Respond to a Situation is Core-only.

Which one should I take?

Whichever your institution or immigration programme requires, so ask them first. If you are applying through Canadian economic immigration, that is the PTE Core lane.

How is my PTE mock scored?

On the 10 to 90 scale, through a curve fitted against real Pearson scaled scores from students who sat the actual exam, with all four communicative skills reported. Scores arrive in minutes.

How accurate is it?

Accurate against what we measured it against, and we publish the limits too: the fit is provisional and built on a small sample, and every mock-to-real projection carries roughly a band of noise. Calibrated means measured against real Pearson results — it does not mean Pearson-exact.

Does a human review my PTE work?

No. PTE packages are AI-scored. Human examiner rating at Lexis is specific to the IELTS Mock Package, on one designated mock.

What is included in PTE preparation?

The ₱1,500 PTE Academic and PTE Core Mock Packages include 10 full computer-based mock exams with recorded speaking, timed tasks, AI scoring, PTE-specific score reporting, and 60 days of access. The separate PTE Practice Studio is not included; Practice access is only included when a package is explicitly marked as including it.
